Books of the month!

HI HI! IT’S ME AGAIN!

I used to write everything I felt, even when I was little… I always had so many diaries to write in, mulai dari yang bergembok sampai yang bercode! Itu saking super rahasianya, yang lebih rahasia dari soal-soal ujian nasional, even Dom Toretto or the FBI couldn’t hack them! HAHAHAHAHAHA.

It’s probably because I grew up in a family where talking about feelings openly wasn’t a thing. I don’t hate it, it’s just how it was. My parents grew up the same way, and my grandparents too, so I can’t really blame them. But now that I’m an adult, I’ve grown really close to my siblings, and I love them so much much much! ❤️

Anyway, back to writing again. I’ve realized that the more you read, the better you write. I used to read a lot when I was in Indonesia, but ever since I moved to the Netherlands, my English and Dutch were super basic at first, and I couldn’t find Indonesian books here. That kind of killed my reading habit, and it totally affected my writing too. But I miss it! I miss the feeling of reading something I wrote a long time ago, it’s like reading someone else’s story, and sometimes I even forget that I once felt that way! HAHAHAHA.

And now, with this website, maybe I’ll feel more motivated to write again. Because honestly, I talk a lot inside my head, and writing things down makes everything feel calmer. Plus, I should start reading again to feed my brain. English books for sure, because Indonesian ones are hard to find here. And yeah, you gonna say, “Why not just read e-books?” sorry but I’m not a fan of them. So I’ve made a deal with myself: one book per month! *pinky promise in the air ✨.

Or… maybe after reading the books, I can write reviews here too??? Aaaa leh uga (not a bad idea)!

So Let’s Do This Again!

Let me introduce two books for this month!

📖 When Things Don’t Go Your Way – Haemin Sunim
I already have two other books from Haemin Sunim, and I love them so much!

CANTIK BANGET BANGEET KAAAAAN? 😭😭😭 Sampai pada akhirnya ternyata bang Haemin udah ngeluarin buku baru lagi tahun 2024 dan gua gak tau. I only found out because my friend Lady bought it and let me borrow hers. But I couldn’t finish it, karena kalo baca buku gua kudu nyoret-nyoret dan nandain bukunya, belom lagi buat kata-kata yang gak gua pahamin. Kudu bhaanget gua garis bawahin pake stabilo tuh, tapi karena itu punya Lady jadilah gaberani gua apa-apain.

BUT………….. Sejak seminggu lalu gua beli bukunya sendiri dari toko buku, karena kebetulan authornya adalah paporit gua, jadi its okaylah gua punya bukunya komplit pikir gua kan.. Yauda sampe sekarang masih dalam plastik hahahahahaahhaha! BUT I SHOULD FINISHED IT BEFORE END OF MARCH! OKAY NEXT!

📖 Hyperfocus – Chris Bailey
Hyper Focus, yeah itu adalah buku kedua gua bulan ini, gua belom baca sampai habis, tapi baru baca bab satu aja tersinggung banget kirain abangnya nulis kisah gua.

If you always underestimate time,
If you feel like scrolling endlessly is a daily struggle,
If you keep procrastinating everything,
If you always think you still have enough time…

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!!! Trust me, THANK ME LATER!

And you know what? I randomly walked into a bookstore today and saw the Top 10 English Books in the Netherlands and Hyperfocus is #1 on the list! So I guess that means a lot of people relate to it too!

Has Anyone Read These Books?

If you have, let me know what you think! And if you haven’t… GO READ THEM!!

Talk to you again when I finish them, kalo gak berarti gua gak jadi baca bukunya HAHAHAAHAHA BYEEEEEEEEEEE 🎉✨

  1. I miss the feeling to read and write my poetry. It is been hard nowadays doing them. I hope one day I can do it again. Reading your writing feels like meeting old friend. Feels memorable and sad in the same time. Good for you! Please read and write much. It feels like you are back on business!
